Shish Kabobs: Ultimate Party Food

So Friday night we had a house party!! Our good friends Erin and Kyle finally met our other good friends Felicia and Jason, and we all had a really fun night! We watched Seinfeld while we cooked kabobs on the grill, played Boxers or Briefs (I won….okay Felicia did but I was close!), and stuffed ourselves with not one but two deserts! We’re talking desert shish kabobs AND root beer floats. We stayed up until 1am talking and telling blonde jokes and just having a great time.

So anyway, here is what we made:

The perfect Shish Kabobs:

Baby Portabella Mushrooms, Green Pepper, Onion, Pineapple, Zuchinni, Tomato, Chicken, Stew Meat, all cubed in one inch pieces!

Cube em, coat em, cook em! We used a lemon pepper marinade for the chicken, salt and peppered the whole lot of em, and cooked it over low heat on the grill for about 15 minutes, then turned on the heat for a bit of a charboil right at the end. After that we brushed, dipped, or dunked the veggies in Honey flavored BBQ sauce from Kroger. Each person made their own (basically all meat for the guys, mostly veggies for the girls, you know how it is), and they were divine!

Desert Shish Kabobs:

Angel Food Cake, Brownies, Strawberries, Bananas, Pineapple, and Marshmellows drizzled with chocolate! Just melt semi-sweet chocolate chips and you’re good to go. We put these on bamboo skewers too, because it’s more fun!

Follow this formula, and providing you have great friends too, your party will be a hit!
